A Little Bit About Nicole
I figured now is a better time than any to properly introduce myself, give you some insights on my background, and talk about what types are articles and content I want to start posting on Medium.
Where to begin — let’s get a little person
I am a 27 (almost 28) year old Massachusetts local working in the Product, Design, and Marketing field, more on that later. I have lived here my whole life except for a brief stint up in NH when I did college that one time for about a year. I could probably do an entire post about my thoughts on the education system here in the States (makes notes on notepad). As much as I have come to like other parts of the States, there isn’t many places that have a true four seasons where you can experience all the spectrums of nature. As I sit here writing this today we are having a blizzard outside, but in a few more months it will be stifling hot. Keeps it interesting to say the least.
I have an a wide array of hobbies including photography, arts and design, iPad art, hiking, athletics, Krav Maga (I am a first degree black belt), cooking, most definitely eating, traveling, poetry, and most recently sewing. The list goes on but I’ll keep this section brief. I do think it would be fun to start sprinkling some articles on my account about my interests — or at least the ones that I think I can talk a bit about.
If you scroll through my previous posts you’ll mostly find the poetry that I’ve felt comfortable posting along with some of my photography. I haven’t posted much lately but being trapped inside this past year has made me reconsider that!
What to expect from me on Medium
Lately I have come to realize I have a lot of thoughts and ideas I want to share in hopes that it will help you in some way, maybe you’ll learn something, or you just have similar interest as I do. Most of the article ideas I have been writing down come from my career path and what I have learned by wearing numerous hats and working within different industries.
I currently work in the Product and User Experience Design fields and have most recently started to dabble into Marketing. I have been working at a small company the last 18 or so months. In essence we build software to monitor, manage, control, and automate audio visual devices for office and education spaces. We are a very very small company, more of a start-up vibe, but with quite a large global presence.
Previous to working here I held User Experience and Development roles in the conumer healthcare market, think WebMD and adjacent products. Needless to say I have a wide range of skillsets and knowledge that I would love to share to people who are interested.
Recently I started writing thought leadership articles for work around hybrid workplaces, security, working during a pandemic, working post-COVID, etc. and that inspired me to rewrite and tailor some of that content for Medium.
I’m thinking this will be a fun and creative outlet to share my experiences, thoughts, passions, and ideas. I look forward to seeing what you all think about it!
